I really need to decide on a capitalization pattern for my typos. I don’t know whether to capitalize every non-particle or just capitalize the first letter. That aside, I bring a Wikipedia find.
Wikipedia is a source of amazing trivia and obscure information for nerds and aspies to go crazy over. One of these topics of interest is obscure punctuation.
Used in mathematics, though not much elsewhere used are the therefore/because marks.
I could see it becoming great for shorthand, though other contractions already exist.
Reminds me of the time I tried to incorporate shorthand into my hand-written journal before I threw in the towel and went full-on digital.
I could make great usage of this in manga. It’s a combination of the !? combo and should enter mainstream usage to reduce ridicule of the !? usage but not reduce the power of the question. Unfortunately, it is so obscure that it, like the “because” mark, it isn’t able to properly display on WordPad (my main typing program)
The asterism – used for subparagraphs, an attention-caller to passages or to separate subchapers in a book. I wouldn’t mind using this. It could be useful in forum posts.
Behold, punctuation for sarcasm… or the snark mark, the latter being more catchy. Regardless of what you decide to call it, it would be a godsend in today’s internet for this marking to become of wide usage. There would be far less misunderstanding, people wouldn’t be seen as idiots, trolling would reach a new level and so much more. I actually used it occasionally but I don’t really know what happened. Maybe we could make a meme or something. Memes tend to catch around better than obscure grammar laws.
